Ooh La La Decor & More LLC is the recipient of the 1st Place Designer of the Year Award in the Window Treatment category at the 2017 National Interior Design Society National Conference.
Excited to be the recipient of this award, but most importantly, excited that our client loves her new window treatments!
A combination treatment of a Roman Shade, Stationary Panels, and Cornice is the “wow” factor in this Master Bedroom. My client desired a room darkening treatment with style so I went grand with a treatment commanding attention while maintaining a tailored look.
The geometric pattern on the blackout lined Roman brought some interest to the otherwise neutral room. A complementary subtle geometric pattern was specified for the stationary panels, which were added for warmth and softness. The final touch was the cornice which was constructed with an angled bottom so it would mimic the shape of the angled walls and help accentuate the height of the room. We adorned the face of the cornice with nickel nail heads to add pizzazz and sheen. Client was thrilled everything perfectly captured her personality.
The large arched window positioned on an angled, vaulted wall presented some installation challenges. I orchestrated numerous discussions with the installer and workrooms to ensure accuracy in fabrication. The Roman is controlled by an upright continuous clutch due to its size. By using a solid fabric on the cornice, we were able to railroad it so seams wouldn’t interrupt the flow of the fabric. The panels were attached to the cornice by a notched right angle pin strip mounted under the cornice.
The client now enjoys a dark bedroom in the morning, and can raise her shade to any level to give her the right amount of light control and privacy all without compromising a contemporary, sleek window treatment.
